'Batta Delia' letterpress woodtype and digital typeface

Introducing 'Batta Delia' - a typeface inspired by the 1901 Giovanni Battista Delia shop sign on Republic Street in Valletta, Malta.

8 line (33.8mm) cut from end grain English hardwood using a combination of modern CNC technology and traditional hand woodworking tools (including an original printers saw), made to English type-high (0.918in or 23.3mm) within plus or minus 0.1mm tolerance, sealed with shellac and hand finished with a traditional polished printing surface.

Available as single letters or schemes of 3A capitals (66 blocks), Figures (27 blocks) and Languages (10 blocks). Please see scheme details on the right.

A digital (OTF) version is available to download and is free with any ‘Batta Delia’ woodtype order. The digital version is available for immediate download.

'Batta Delia' has full western European language (including the Maltese language) support so whether you’re printing in Norwegian, Dutch, French etc ‘Batta Delia’ is for you! To make things easy when ordering please select a Languages set and I will get in touch to discuss which blocks you would like. Available in sets of 10 blocks.

Other sizes and schemes available on request. I can also cut individual letters if you have a particular project in mind - please email what letters you would like.
