'Stewartby' letterpress woodtype typeface

Stewartby is a reworking of a combination of similar designs from my collection - you all have something similar in your cases but ‘Stewartby’ is for those after typographic perfection…

Introducing the ‘Kedge’ - a wedge designed for kerning with specially made ‘Stewartby’ kerning blocks (plus a 12x144pt spacer). 

12 line (50.8mm) version cut from end grain English hardwood using a combination of modern CNC technology and traditional hand woodworking tools (including an original printers saw), made to English type-high (0.918in or 23.3mm) within plus or minus 0.1mm tolerance, sealed with shellac and hand finished with a traditional polished printing surface.

Available as a 3A capitals (60 blocks), 2A Capitals (38 blocks) and a Kerning Collection (8 blocks plus 2 Kedges) schemes. Please see scheme details on the right.

Other sizes and schemes available on request, including language options. I can also cut individual letters if you have a particular project in mind - please email what letters you would like.

Each block varies in width however average size is 37 x 23.3 x 67.7mm
